Wil Harris can forgive and forget – at a price
Gary Vaynerchuk is a rabid psychotic madman. Kevin Rose lusts after anything with at least one limb. Paul Boag is a bit too eerily forthcoming with his christianity. So, everything is completely normal in web celebrity world, and there has been very little for us to report.
Except this little gem. Outed by TheTAPIR last week for his soreness at Leo Laporte, Wil Harris has been in communications with Laporte to make amends. In response to Laporte’s asking what he could possibly do to make up for his indefensible British accents Harris attempted (and failed) to DM this tweet:
Harris immediately deleted the tweet, but it was too late. Our sources overheard him saying “Well, the BBC accent was actually jolly good. Gosh, it certainly got me in the mood for frilly undies.”. We are very glad this rift seems to be healing itself, and wish the two podcasters every good fortune in their future lives.
Now – come on, Internet. Let’s have a little scandal please.
Wil Harris is full of hate

You may, like us, have been wondering why it has been such a long time since Wil Harris has appeared as a guest on This Week in Tech. Perhaps his new marriage is taking up a lot of his time (mentioned by Harris before the death of his blog in favour of Twitter)? Perhaps he is busy with the biggest IPTV network you have never heard of? Or perhaps he is just catching up on episodes of The Wire.
TheTAPIR can at last exclusively confirm that the reason Harris has been avoiding appearances on TWiT is that he is nearing the end of his tether with Leo Laporte, and does not want to engage in violence before the public. Laporte cannot help but assume inexcusably bad accents whenever he has the opportunity, and every visit from Harris results in exhibitions of this behaviour.
“Not only is it 2 in the morning, guvnor – but he’s making these bloody voices at me n’all! I can ‘ardly Adam and Eve it. I’ve got huge dentist bills from grinding me teef to stop me effing and blinding at ‘im.” grumbled Harris. “And you fink ‘is British accent is bad? If he ever has a Swedish person on that show, he’s going to get cut.”
Leo Laporte tells Mike Arrington: screw you

Leo Laporte today threw a dramatic hissy fit at Mike Arrington on the Gillmor Gang podcast, following Arrington’s suggestion that a free review unit of the Palm Pre may affect Laporte’s review of the product. Some of Laporte’s calm and dignified responses:
- “That’s BS and I’m really pissed off [...]“
- “Mike, you are such a troll. Screw you [...]“
- “I’m not kidding. Screw you, you asshole, screw you.”
And, in case there was any ambiguity:
“I’m throwing you all off. Fuck you guys.”
Mike was clearly in the wrong because, as everyone knows, Leo Laporte is in love with everything – declaring any product with flashing lights to be the most amazing thing ever, regardless of whether or not he has actually used, seen or heard of it. Steve Gillmor (predictably) in following podcasts, tried very hard (and failed) to make the outburst seem like it was in some way related to him. We saved the best for last:
“I’ve had it with Mike Arrington. He is the most trollish person I’ve ever worked with.”
